Our Review
Vampire movies have been a part of our lives since many years, since the time of their first appearance in the world of entertainment. Many creative ideas have been initiated in order to get the best script. The Lost Boys, which hit the theatres in the year 1987, directed by Joel Schumacher is still considered as one of the best horror-comedy movies of the 80s.
The movie then takes a new twist and turn with the blood sucking vampires and the battle between the good and evil.
Overall, the movie has received the good ratings despite of common storyline. However, the movie is good and one can enjoy this movie. If you are looking forward to have the best action, then watch this movie.
Plot
Micheal (Jason Patric) & Sam (Corey Haim) are siblings whose parents get divorce for some reason. They do not know how to spend the rest of their lives on their own and therefore, they move out of the house to their grandfather, who is an eccentric old man. They now are in Santa Carla, which is known as the capital of the murderers. The place is filled with loathe and disgusting events. They do not know that the place is overwhelmed by vampires.
At night, vampires move out killing everyone around, sucking their bloods and feeding on their vulnerable bodies. A group of teenage boys, who are tough in nature, is led by the team leader named David. Micheal sees a mysteriously beautiful chic (Jami Gertz) who is a girlfriend of David.
During this time, Lucy, the mother of kids starts dating a man named Max, and she thinks that her kids have a problem with that. As Michael unknowingly drinks vampire blood disguised as wine, he begins transforming into a creature of the night. Sam joins forces with the comic-book geek Frog Brothers to hunt down the head vampire and save his brother before the change becomes permanent.
Ending Explained
Michael defeats and impales David on deer antlers, but to everyone’s horror, Michael and Star do not revert to their human forms, proving David was never the head vampire. The true master reveals himself to be Max, the mild-mannered video store owner dating their mother Lucy, who orchestrated the entire scheme to build an immortal family.
Just as Max pins down Michael, Grandpa crashes his pickup truck through the living room wall, projecting a wooden fence post straight through Max’s chest and into the fireplace, causing him to violently detonate. With the head vampire destroyed, Michael, Star, and young Laddie are permanently restored to humanity. Grandpa casually walks over to the refrigerator, delivers the legendary closing line—”One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach: all the damn vampires”—and takes a sip of root beer.
