Our Review
Vampires hunt their preys when it is dark and dangerous. From Dusk Till Dawn takes this concept into a completely unpredictable direction. When the movie begins, it feels like an intense, gritty crime thriller about dangerous criminals running from the law.
As the story progresses and the characters reach the remote Mexican desert, the film suddenly flips its genre on its head and throws the audience directly into a wild, terrifying, and action-packed battle against monstrous vampires.
George Clooney delivers an outstanding performance that established him as a legitimate movie star, and the chemistry between him and Quentin Tarantino makes every scene compelling. The direction by Robert Rodriguez was superb!
Plot
Seth Gecko and his brother Richard are fugitives on the run after a bloody bank robbery in Texas. While attempting to escape into Mexico, they take a former preacher, Jacob Fuller, and his two teenage children hostage inside their family motorhome.
Using the family vehicle as cover, the Gecko brothers successfully slip past the heavily guarded border patrol and arrive at the ‘Titty Twister’, an isolated desert strip club appointed as their rendezvous point with an underworld contact.
Once inside, a bar brawl erupts, spilling human blood and causing the entire club staff—led by the seductive dancer Santanico Pandemonium—to reveal themselves as ancient Aztec vampires. With the doors locked until dawn, the survivors must band together, weaponizing whatever they can find to survive the night.
